Patti changed a few things when she made it. She omitted the baking soda, did partial white sugar (not all brown) and added cashews.
She melted the butter, corn syrup, sugars and vanilla and brought it to a boil until the sugar was dissolved, poured over all and mixed well. Then put it in her roaster and baked at 275 F for one hour stirring every 15 minutes.
