      Oh-So-Good Oatmeal

3 Cups Water
2 Medium Tart Apples, Cored and Chopped
1 1/2 Cup Old-Fashioned Oats
1 Dash Salt
1/4 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1. In a large saucepan over Medium heat, bring water to a boil.
2. Add apples, chopped, oats and dash salt; cook & stir 5 minutes.
3. Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar, ground cinnamon and vanilla extract.
4. Cover & let stand for 2 minutes. Sprinkle each serving with chopped almonds as well as maple syrup and/or fat-free milk, which is optional
