     Pound Cake

1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 cups sugar
pinch of salt
4 eggs
3 cups flour
1 cup whole milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract

Cream together butter, oil, sugar, and salt. Mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Alternately add flour and milk. Mix well. Stir flavorings. Beat well.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 90-95 minutes.
Invert pan and cool for 10 minutes before removing cake from pan. Serve pieces topped with fresh fruit or ice cream.
