     Bread and Butter Pickles

4 Quarts Medium Sized Cucumbers, thinly sliced
6 Medium White Onions, sliced
1 Green Pepper, sliced
3 Cloves Garlic, sliced
1/3 Cup Coarse Salt
Cracked Ice, enough to cover the vegetables
3 Cups White Vinegar
5 Cups Sugar
1 1/2 Teaspoons Celery Seed
1 1/2 Teaspoons Turmeric
2 Tablespoons Mustard Seed

Combine cucumbers, onions, green pepper and garlic. Add salt and cover with cracked ice. Mix well and let stand 3 hours. Drain thoroughly.
Combine all other ingredients and pour over the cucumber mix. Heat to boiling and bottle in sterilized pint jars.
NOTE- Makes 8 pints.
