     Rice Pilaf- homemade

Ingredients
1 coil vermicelli
1/2 C butter
1 C chicken bullion
S&P
3 scallions chopped
1 pkg Lipton chicken noodle soup- dry
2 1/2 C water
1 C long grain rice
1 can bean sprouts drained and rinsed.
 
GARNISHES
Sliced almonds
fresh chopped parsley

Instructions
Over medium heat in a skillet, melt the butter and crumble in the vermicelli, browning it.
Add the rest of the ingredients and S&P to taste. Cover tightly and simmer on stove top for 25 min. Do not lift the lid while cooking.
Before serving sprinkle with slivered or chopped almonds and parsley if desired.
