Leave cream cheese and butter in soften in mixing bowl 2 or so hours. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
This is enough frosting for 1 layer of 9X13. If needed for 2 layer round cake, use 12 oz cream cheese, 1 1/2 sticks butter, 3 c powdered sugar and 1 1/2 t vanilla.
