Combine first three ingredients; beat well with a heavy-duty
mixer. Gradually add sugar; beat until light and fluffy (about 5
minutes). Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each
addition. Add flour to creamed mixture; beat well. Stir in
vanilla.
Pour batter into a well-greased 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325
for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan
10 minutes; remove from pan, and cool completely.
Yield- One 10-inch cake.
Note- after greasing pan, sprinkle sugar around the bottom
and sides to distribute evenly.
