     french toast with applesauce coating

Ingredients
1 1/4 c almond milk
2 tbs flax meal
3 tbs water
1/4 c applesauce
1/4 c maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp pink himalayan sea salt
6-8 slices of challah bread
 

Instructions
In a small bowl, mix the flax and water together and let sit for a minute to thicken to make a flax egg. In a large mixing bowl, add the milk, flax egg, apple sauce, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt. Whisk until fully combined. Can slice challah bread into 6-8 thick slices, then slice those into about 3 or 4 sticks or can keep whole. Dip into the milk mixture, don't soak, just dip both sides and remove. Heat a little oil or vegan butter in a non stick pan, cook each stick on all sides until brown and crisp. A minute or two on each side. or can put on griddle.
