     Beef Barley Soup

Category   Salads - Soups - Sidedishes
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
If you have stock pot (like mom's blue one) you can do all steps in one pot.
If you are using a regular pot fry the beef and onion first then add to the pot
INGREDIENTS-
Stewing beef or steak cut into chunks
1 onion diced
1-2 carrots diced
2 celery diced

3 bay leafs
1-2 tbsp of montreal steak spice more if needed, less is desired
1-2 cartons of beef broth
1/4 cup of barley
1-2 potatoes

Instructions
In the crock pot add about 1 tsp of oil and fry the beef and onions with 1 tbsp of steak spice. Add the celery, carrots, bay leaf, barley, and potatoes
Simmer for a couple of hours so the flavours come together
Note- I have said 2 cartons of beef broth , you may or may not need both. Add one and then simmer for a bit. If it looks to thick then add more. If you making a serving for just one -two people then you should only need 1 carton. Try it you'll figure it out after you've make it a couple of times.
