1 tbsp canola oil
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup spicy brown mustard
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup cider vinegar
kosher salt and black pepper
1/2 to 1 tsp crushed red pepper, optional

Heat oil in medium skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, 2-5 minutes.
Add mustard, honey, vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, and red pepper if desired. Bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring often, until slightly thickened, 4 to 6 minutes.
