     Flat French Bread

1 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup warm water, 105-110 degrees F
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt

Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water together in a large bowl and let it stand for 5 minutes. Stir in salt and flour. Empty dough out onto floured surface and knead until you form a soft and smooth dough (add flour as needed). Place ball of dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise 1 hour. Preheat oven to 400 degress F. Grease a 9x9 inch pan with shortening or butter and press dough evenly into it. In a small dish, mix melted butter and minced garlic. Drizzle garlic butter over the dough. Sprinkle top with coarse salt. Bake for 20-25 until golden brown.
