     Krusteaz Buttermilk Biscuits

2 1/2 cups Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix
1/3 cup vegetable shortening (I only use butter)
1/3 cup cold milk
1 egg

Measure out pancake mix. Cut in butter. Stir in milk and egg. Kneed until mixed together. Roll and cut into 8 - 2 1/2 inch thick biscuits. Bake at 400 for 9 to 12 minutes.
For bannock, make dough into a rope and wrap around roasting stick. Cover with foil. Roast over the coals of a fire for about 10 minutes. Serve with honey butter or jam, or as Jack likes, with a roasted marshmallow.
For dumplings, flatten pieces of dough and place on top of finished stew. Simmer covered for about 12 minutes till done.
