1- 53 oz can Pork & Beans
|
|
1 - regular can other beans (black, red, or white)
|
|
1/2 onion
|
|
1/2 green pepper
|
|
1/2 lb cooked bacon- crumbled (reserve drippings)
|
|
1 1/2 bacon grease (or crisco)
|
|
1 to 1 1/2 C ketchup
|
|
1 1/2 TB molasses
|
|
1/4 C brown sugar
|
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Instructions |

Heat oven to 250
Dice onion and green pepper and saute in bacon
grease until soft.
|
|
|
In large oven proof pot combine all ingredients
including bacon, onions, peppers, etc. Cover and
slow cook in the oven for 3 hours for best
results.
|
|
|
Can be heated on the stove top, but it does not
thicken and reduce quite the same. Add water if
beans get too thick.
