Cream together butter and shortening. Gradually add sugars,
cream thoroughly. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour,
baking soda and salt. Blend into creamed mixture.
Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
Chill
Drop batter by spoonfuls (approx 15 ml) onto lightly greased
cookie sheets. With hands flatten cookies slightly and neaten
the edges to five an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
Bake in 375 F oven 8-9 minutes or until cookies are golden
brown around edges and still slightly under baked in center.
Remove from oven and let stand on baking sheets 5 minutes
