Sift together the dry ingredients. Place butter and
sugar in electric mixer and beat until combined.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla and continue to beat
until creamed. Add dry ingredients to the mix and
continue until blended. Chill for one hour.

On a well-floured surface, roll the half the dough
at a time to 1/8-inch thickness. Using a cookie
cutter, cut into 2-inch circles. Using a plastic
beverage cap, cut a small hole into the center of
half of the batch.

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees f. Place half teaspoon
of preserves onto the center of each plain circle,
top with the cut one and seal the edges.

|
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12-15 minutes
until desired doneness. Remove cookies to a cooling
rack.
