Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9 X 13 cake pan. Mix
brown sugar, butter and flour with a pastry blender
until fine crumbs. Reserve 2 c of crumbs for the top.
In a separate bowl combine boiling water and baking
soda then add molasses and salt. Mix molasses
mixture into crumb mixture then pour into prepared
cake pan.
Starting at the edge, scatter reserved crumbs over
the top. Bake 45-50 minutes.
