     Chocolate Stout Cake

Ingredients
1 c all purpose flour
1 c sugar
1/2 c cocoa sifted
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c butter milk (i subbed milk and vinegar)
1/2 c veg oil
2 eggs
 
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp espresso powder optional
3/4 c Guinness
Frosting- 100 gr milk or dark chocolate
1/4 c butter
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 to 2 c icing sugar
pinch salt

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. lightly grease pan. I used small spring form pan. Lined w parchment and oiled. In a large bowl sift together dry ingredients and in a seperate bowl mix wet ingredients. Combine wet into dry just till combined. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 50 min to 1 hour untill center of loaf is set and springy. Allow to cool in pan 20 min before turning out onto wire rack to cool.
Icing- Melt chocolate and butter together in microwave in short bursts or over warm simmering water. Stir in sourcream and vanilla. Grdually beat in icing sugar and vanilla. I just poured over cake and let run down sides. I believe Mary whipped this till thick and fluffy. We dont like a lot of icing so pouring over worked as only half stayed on cake. rest puddled.
