Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla; stir in peanut butter. Stir in dry ingredients, a small amount at a time, stir into a creamy mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Dip fork in flour; make criss cross marks on cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
