     Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
5 1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla or lemon extract
 

Instructions
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time. Sift together flour and milk alternately until completely mixed. Add vanilla. Pour dough onto a floured board and knead the dough until of a consistency to cut with the cookie cutter. Roll into about 1/4 inch thickness and cut. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for about 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve hot or cold.
