Parmesan cheese (either pre-packaged or freshly grated)
Instructions
To season the ground round, I use a liberal amount of Season All seasoned salt and lots of freshly cracked black pepper. Add the diced onion and cook until there is no more pink left in the meat.
Add the rest of the vegetables and cook for 5 minutes. Add the whole can of diced tomatoes, and the whole can of tomato paste. Fill the empty diced tomato can to 1/2 way and pour into sauce. This adds some liquid content.
Add the garlic and parmesan cheese and stir through for 5 minutes. Taste. Add more salt/pepper to taste.
This sauce is great for lots of things- I use it in my lasagne, my pasta bake, over pasta by itself and also for nachos.
