     Cherry Pudding

Ingredients
2 cups sour cherries
3/4 cup sugar
3 T shortening
1 egg (optional)
salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 t baking powder
 
1 T cornstarch
1 cup boiling water

Instructions
Put cherries in 8 inch square baking pan.
Cream 3/4 cup sugar with shortening and egg. add salt. Add milk alternating with flour. add baking powder and pour over cherries.
Mix 1 cup of sugar, cornstarch and sprinkle over cherries. Pour 1 cup of boiling water overall.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until brown.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
