Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Measure peanut butter, shortening and brown sugar. Beat peanut butter, shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla until creamy. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture; blend well. Fold in chocolate morsels. Drop dough 2-inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes. Cool 2 minutes and remove to a cooling rack.
