Heat oven to 350. Combine sugar, butter, eggs and molasses in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Reduce to low speed, add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger. Beat until well mixed.
Press dough into ungreased 15x10x1 jelly roll pan. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 16-20 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Don't overcook. Cool completely. Cut into bars or shapes as desired.
Butter Flavor Crisco can be used, not quite as good a flavor. Don't forget to add water according to the directions on the can.
