Sugar Cookies

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
-
2/3 cup butter, softened
-
3/4 cup granulated sugar
-
1 tsp baking power
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
1 egg
-
1 Tbps milk
-
1tsp vanilla
-
2 cups flour

Instructions
In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add granulated sugar, baking powder, and salf. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg, milk, and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with mixer. Stir in any remaining flour. Divide dough in half. If necessary, cover and chill dough 30 minutes or until easy to handle (you can also chill dough 24 hours if desired).
On lightly floured surface, roll half the dough at a time until 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 for 7-8 minutes or until edges of firm and bottoms are very lightly browned. Transfer to wire rack and let cool. Frost if desired.
