Category   Appetizers
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
3/4 c chopped pited dates
1 small apple, cored and diced
1 small firm ripe pear, cored and diced
1/2 c currants
1/2 c chopped pecans or walnuts
1/3 c rose wine or apple juice
1 (2lb) round of ripe Brie cheese, chilld
French bread, sliced thin, toasted if desired

Instructions
in a bowl mix dates, fruit, nuts and wine or apple juice. Set aside to soften fruit, about 2 hours.
Cut Brie crosswise in half to make 2 round layers. Place 1 layer, cut side up, in attractive 10 inch shallow baking dish, such as a quiche pan. Make sure Brie fits serving dish snuggly.
Spread cut side with 2 1/2 c fruit mix. Place remaining cheese layer, cut side down, on fruit. Spoon remaining fruit on to center of cheese.
Bake uncovered in 350 oven until cheese melts at edges and center is warm, about 15 to 20 minutes. Serve with French bread. NOTE- Brie can be prepared 2 days ahead and kept chilled until ready to bake.
