Mushroom Cheese Souffle

Ingredients
-
14 slices regular wonder bread
-
1/2 lb. or 6 slices Am. or ched.cheese
-
8 eggs
-
2 cans cream mushroom soup
-
2 cups milk - 2%
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
Sauce
-
2 pounds fresh mushrooms
 
-
1/2 cup butter
-
2 tablespoons flour
-
2 cups half and half
-
salt and pepper

Instructions
Cut crusts off bread and butter both sides of bread (day old is better). Put 1/2 of bread in 9-13 pan Put cheese on top. Put another layer of bread Cut into 1 inch cubes in pan.
In a bowl beat eggs, milk, soup and salt. Pour on casserole. Let set in refrig over night. Bake 4minutes to 1 hour at 325
Mushroom Sauce--2 pounds fresh mushrooms-1/2 cup butter- 2 tablespoons flour- 2 cups 1/2 and 1/2-salt and pepper
Wash and cut mushrooms. Saute mushrooms in butter. Add 2 rounded tbsp of flour. Blend in half and half. Add more cream if sauce is too thick. Season with salt and pepper. Serve
Serving Suggestions
Serve with Grammys mushroom sauce--step 3 and 4
