heat oven to 350°. Grase bottom only of 9x5 loaf
pan. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level
off. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking
powder, salt adn soda. Using pastry blender, cut
in shortening until particles are size of coarse
meal. Stir in peel, juice and egg just until dry
ingredients are moistened. Fold in cranberries and
nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350° for 50-
60 minutes until toothpick inserted in center
comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan.
Cool completely. Makes 1 loaf.
