Servings   1 9-inch pie crust

Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
6 tbsp shortening
2 to 3 tbsp cold water
 

Instructions
Mix flour and salt in medium bowl, cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until crumbly. Gradually stir in cold water, mixing until flour is moistened.
Shape dough into ball, flatten to 1-inch thickness. On lightly floured board, roll dough into a circle about 2 inches larger that inverted 9-inch pie plate. Line pie plate with pastry. Trim pastry to 1/2 inch beyond the edge of the pie plate; fold extra pastry under and flute edge.
Makes one 9-inch pie crust.
Note- Recipe can be doubled to make two 9-inch pie crusts or one double-crust 9-inch pie.
