1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
|

1 1/2 cup sliced celery
|
|
1 can (16 oz) bean sprouts, drained
|

1 can (8oz) sliced water chestnuts, drained
|

1 can (4 oz) green giant mushroom pieces and stems,
|
|
drained
|
|
1 can (14 oz) beef broth
|
|
1 jar (2 oz) diced pimientos, drained
|
|
2 tbsp soy sauce
|
|
|
|
1/2 tsp ground ginger
|
|
2 tbsp cornstarch
|
|
3 tbsp water
|
|
4 cups chow mein noodles or hot cooked rice.

Instructions |

|
In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked, drain.

Add celery, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, mushrooms, broth, pimientos, soy sauce and ginger; mix well. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

|
Meanwhile, in small bowl, blend cornstarch and water until smooth.
|
|
|
Stir cornstarch mixture into beef mixture. Cook until mixture is bubbly and slightly thickened. Serve additional soy sauce.
