1 can french onion soup
|

1 can beef consumme
|
|
1 20 oz. can V8 juice
|
|
1 cup red wine (pinot noir or burgundy or any good wine)
|
|
1 tsp. garlic powder
|
|
1 Tbsp. dried oregano
|
|
2 lbs. stew meat, cubed
|
|
1/4 cup brown sugar
|
|
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
|
|

Instructions |
|
|
Combine all liquids and bring to a boil in a large saucepan with a cover.
Add spices, meat and sugar
|
|
|
Return to a boil and summer with a cover on part way fro 2- 2.5 hours,
until meat is tender
|
|
|
Thicken broth by combining half of teh gravy with the 2 or 3 Tbsp.
cornstarch
|
|
|
Pour this mixture back into the pot, stirring until bubbly. Serve with
broad egg noodles, or rice.
