Melt butter and cholcate in a 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth, 8-10 minutes. Cool completely, at least 30 minutes.
Combine melted chocolate mixture, 1 cup flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping sides of bowl often, until well mixed, 2-3 minutes. Stir in remaining flour by hand.
Cover and refrigerate 2 hours. preheat oven to 300 degrees, grease cookie sheets, shape rounded tsps full of dough into 1 inch balls. roll in confectioners' sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 12-15 minutes, or until set.
