     Gingerbread (the cake type)

Ingredients
2-1/4 C regular Flour
1/3 C Sugar
1 C Dark Molasses
3/4 C hot water
1/2 C Shortening
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 Egg
1 tsp Ginger
 
3/4 tsp Salt

Instructions
Dump everything together in a bowl, beat for 1/2 minutes on slow, then 3 more on medium speed. Scrape bowl as needed. Pour into greased and floured 9 inch square pan, bake in a preheated 325 oven about 50 minutes (tooth pick will come out clean). Serve warm with a lemon sauce for a sinfully great treat!
