Category   Desserts - Breads

Ingredients
CAKE
3/4 cp flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
6 whole eggs separated
1 cp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 square bakers chocolate semi sweet grated
FILLING

2 tbsp flour
1 cp sugar
1 cp cream thom says light is better than heavy
1/2 cp butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
TOPPING
1/2 pt whipping cream
2 tsp powdered sugar AND 2/3 cup Hershey Almond bar grated

Instructions
CAKE 1 Combine first three dry ingredients. Sift three times. 2 Beat 6 egg whites (in a very large bowl) until stiff. Fold in 1 cup sugar. 3 Beat 6 egg yolks until thick and lemon in color. Add 1 tsp vanilla and mix well. 4 Fold egg yolk mixture into egg white mixture. 5 Sift the dry ingredients into the yolks/whites, then fold in dry ingredients. 6 Divide batter in half and add 1 square grated chocolate to one half. 7 Pour each half into a 9 inch pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. 8 Cool overnight or at least several hours. This helps reduce crumbling when slicing.
FILLING 1 Mix flour and sugar. 2 Add other ingredients and cook over hot water until thick. Should coat back of spoon.
TOPPING 1 Whip the cream with the powdered sugar. 2 Fold in the grated Hershey Almond bars.
ASSEMBLY 1 Cut each layer in half. 2 Stack light, filling, dark, filling, light, filling, dark and frost the top with whipped cream. NOTES NOTES NOTES BEFORE YOU BEGIN- grease/flour bottom/sides of pans - place waxed paper rounds in bottom FILLING- can also use pudding or preserves - I change it up all the time TOPPING- same thing here though I always use whipped cream I don't always use the chocolate bars, like when I did the King Cake or when I use fresh fruit.
