2 pounds hamburger, I prefer 1 lb. beef and 1 lb. venison
4 16 ounce cans of Bush's mild chili beans
1 46 ounce can of tomato juice
4 tablespoonsvMcCormick (red lid) chili powder
1 29 ounce can of tomato sauce
2 28 ounce cans of diced tomatos
1 10 3/4 can tomato pure
2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoon red pepper
Instructions
Cover bottom of large skillet with cooking oil -
add onions, black pepper and red pepper - cook
until onions are soft.
While onions are cooking, empty 4 can of chili
beans into a large stock pot. Add 4 tablespoons
chili powder, can of tomato sauce, 2 cans diced
tomatoes plus 2 pinches of salt and 2 pinches of
black pepper and let simmer.
Add meat to onion mixtures and brown the meat.
Drain the liquid from the meat and onion mixture.
Add drained meat and onion to the simmering bean
pot. Ad can of tomato puree and can of tomato
juice. Simmer for 2 hours stirring occasionally to
keep from sticking or scorching. Add more spices
to taste.
