1 can of diced or stewed tomatoes (Italian or Cajun style)
Instructions
Cook the pasta as usual. Drain and set aside. As the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet. Cook the onion and garlic for a few minutes, then add the ground meat. Season with salt and pepper. Then choose one of the following:
Idea 1:
Add ground cumin, chili powder to meat and cook through. Add two cans of diced green chile, one can of drained and rinsed black beans or kidney beans (or both) and one can of drained corn. Then throw in the pasta, cheese packet, and can of diced tomato. Stir and heat through. Serve with a dollup of sour cream.
Idea 2:
Add sliced mushrooms, dried basil, dried oregano. Cook for a few minutes, then about a 1/2 cup of Marsala wine. Stir and cook for a few more minutes. Then add pasta, cheese packet, and diced tomatoes. Stir and heat through.
Idea 3:
Add ground cumin, paprika. Cook for a few minutes, then add diced red bell pepper. Cook for a few more. Then add pasta, cheese packet, and diced tomatoes. Stir well, then add fresh chopped dill. Heat through. Serve with a dollup of sour cream.
