½ cup (125 ml) of raisins/chocolate chip/ etc. (optional)
1¾ cup (450 ml) of milk
½ cup (125 ml) of firmly-packed brown sugar
1/3 cup (75 ml) of margarine or melted butter
1 egg
1 tbsp. (table spoon) of molasses
1 tbsp. (table spoon) of baking powder
1 ½ cup (125ml) of whole wheat flour
½ tsp. (tea spoon) of cinnamon
½ tsp. (tea spoon) of salt
½ tsp. (tea spoon) of ginger
Instructions
In a big bowl, mix the cereals, the oat, the optional flavour (raisins/chocolate chip, etc.)and the milk. Leave to rest for 5 minutes. Then add the brown sugar, the margarine, the egg and the molasses.
After, put into another larger bowl the remaining ingredients (flour, baking powder ginger, cinnamon and salt). Put the first bowl into the second one and mix.
Then batter into the muffin cups (10 to 12 muffins).
Finally, bake them at 400°F (200°C) for approximately 20 minutes.
