Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine baking mix and 1/4 tsp of garlic powder; mix in cheese. Add milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Roll or pad dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness, cut with a 1 1/2-inch cutter.
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Combine melted butter and the remaining 1/8 tsp of the garlic powder; brush on tops of biscuits, and bake for 10 minutes, or until golden.
Yield 1 dozen.
