Beat eggs slightly; add brown sugar gradually, beating well.

Add melted butter and mix well.
|
|
|
Add salt and vanilla and blend well. Sprinkle the coarsely cut pecans over the bottom of the pie shell. Cover with the sugar mixture.

|
Cover the top with the pecan halves.
Bake in a moderate over (350) for 40 minutes or Reduce heat to 250 and bake until firm, about 15 to 20 minutes more until firmly set.
