In medium bowl, combine peaches and the 2 T granulated sugar.
Set aside
Place butter in 8 or 9 inch square baking dish; place in 350 degree
oven until butter melts, about 5 minutes. In medium bowl stir
together flour, the 3/4 c granulated sugar, baking powder,
cinnamon, and salt. Make well in center of flour mixture. Pour in
milk and vanilla; stir until evenly moistened (don't overmix).
Spoon batter over melted butter (do not stir). Spoon peaches over
top, gently pressing peaches into batter. Bake in 350 degree oven
for 35 minutes. Sprinkle coarse sugar over top; bake until golden
brown, about 10 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream
