Combine first 4 ingredients, stir up good, and set aside to cool.
Beat egg whites slightly. Then add baking powder, salt and cream of tarter. Continue beating until egg whites stand in peaks. Fold this into above mixture. Put in 9 by 13 inch pan abd bake at 325 degrees 35-40 minutes
Powdered sugar frosting can be put on when cake is cooled.
