Melt together caramels and evaporated milk. Set aside

Generously grease and flour a 9X13 pan.
combine dry cake mix, butter, evap milk and nuts. Stir by hand until dough holds together. Press half of dough into pan saving the other half for topping.
Bake at 350 for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over crust, spread caramel mixture over chocolate pieces, crumble reserved dough over caramel mixture. Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes.
