Boil water in a pot and cook noodles according to package. Dice onion and saute in a tablespoon of oil and brown italian sausage at same time. Drain meat and return to pan. Add tomato sauce and petite diced tomatos. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Next, layer bottom of lasagna pan with noodles. Layer on meat sauce, then layer on cheeses. Next another layer of noodles and repeat meat and cheeses. Top off with another layer of noodles.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Take out of oven and let rest for 20 minutes. Then cut and serve.
