Beat butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. mix flour with soda and salt; blend into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chunks, and nuts. Chill 1 hour. Drop 2 inches apart, from heaping Tablespoon, onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes; remove from sheets and finish cooling on racks. (Cookies will be firm when cool.)
