To prepare cookies; preheat over to 350. Cream
butter thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and
continue beating, until mixtures is light and
fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well.
Sift together flour and nutmeg. Add gradually to
creamed mixture blending well after each addition.
Shape dough into fingers (1/2 inch diameter and 3
inches long). Bake on buttered cookie sheets at
350 for 13 to 15 minutes. Cool. Spread top and
sides of finger cookies with Butter cream frosting
(see below) sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.
