Sprinkle the roast with salt and pepper. Place fat side up in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 45 min. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and cook at med-low for 10-12 minutes or until cranberries pop and the sauce thickens. Pour the sauce over the roast and marinate frequently as the roast bakes another 15 - 20 minutes (internal temp should be 160 degrees when done). Let roast stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
