Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and allspice.
In a large bowl, beat together sugar and oil and set aside.
In a small bowl, beat together eggs and vanilla extract.
Add egg mixture to sugar mixture and blend well. Add apples and nuts; blend.
Gradually add sifted dry ingredients and beat well. Pour into tube pan (a bundt pan would probably work, too) and bake. Cool 45 minutes before turning cake out of pan.

*I use Delicious Apples. It takes the better part of 3 large ones for 2 cups grated. You can ice with cream cheese icing if you like.
