4 sticks mozarella string cheese, cut into 3/4 in cube
1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
1 jar pasta sauce
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 egg
12 oz cooked spaghetti
2/3 cup parmesan
Instructions
Place cubes in freezer bag and freeze for at least 1 hr. Heat oven to 375F. Line 15x10 pan with foil; spray foil with nonstick. In a large bowl, mix bread crumbs and 3 Tbsp of pasta sauce. Stir in beef, onion, salt, oregano and egg. Shape into 18 balls. Press 1 cheese cube into center of each ball. Gently place in pan. Bake 10 min
Meanwhile, pour remaining pasta sauce into 5 qt dutch oven. Cover; heat to simmer; stir frequently. Gently stir in meatballs, reduce heat to medium-low. Cover; simmer 10 min, stirring occasionally, until meatballs are thoroughly cooked and no longer pink in middle.
850 calories per 2 oz serving of pasta and 3 meatballs.
