Process the anchovies, egg, garlic, parmesan, lemon juice, salt and pepper in blender or food processor until blended. Add the olive oil in a fine stream, processign constantly until blended. Tear the romaine into bite-size pieces and place in a salad bowl. Add the croutons and shredded parmesan cheese and toss to mix. Add the dressign and toss to coat. Serve immediately.
