Sift flour, soda and salt together. Cream shortening and peanut butter together; gradually add sugars. Cream well and add eg, milk, and beat well. Add vanilla. Blend dry ingredients gradually and mix thoroughly. Shape into balls. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and place milk chocolate kiss on top of cookie and press down until cookie cracks around the edge.
Return to oven and bake 2-5 minutes more.
