PUT RAISINS AND WATER INTO SAUCEPAN AND BRING TO A BOIL. BOIL FOR 20 MIN. REMOVE FROM HEAT ADD CRISCO AND BAKING SODA SET ASIDE TO COOL.
MIX SUGAR, FLOUR, CINNAMON, NUTMEG, CLOVES AND SALT TOGETHER . ADD EGG AND NUTS. THEN ADD RAISINS.
SPREAD INTO SMALL GREASED PAN. BAKE 350 FOR 10-15 MIN T6ILL BROWN.COOL GLAZE WITH MIXTURE OF POWDER SUGAR VANILLA AND ENOUGH HOT MILK TO MAKE IT SPREADABLE. CUT INTO DIAMOND SQUARES.
